This is an interview-style post with Nancy from MyBusinessRoute.

Hey, Nancy. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

Thanks for having me for this amazing interview. I run an ecommerce store Creator Banana which is a T-shirt brand store for creators and influencers.

Apart from this, I started My Business Route which is a blog basically everything related to online businesses.

I started my journey with a vision to empower people to start their own businesses.

In 2019, I and my friend Abhishek first decided to start an online business, and from then only, my journey started, and I got interested in e-commerce and other online businesses.

What was life like before being your own boss?

I never thought of living a “be your own boss” life, it all happened just only because I was super passionate about online businesses.

Before starting my venture, I used to run my Instagram page and a YouTube channel (which I still have right now).

These are the two best platforms which I really love. I really love my community and every single person who has supported me in my journey.

How did you come up with the idea for MyBusinessRoute, and why did you choose to be a digital marketing blogger?

When I started my journey and exploring this online world, I found a common thing among all the online businesses, “digital marketing.”

With the help of digital marketing, people can now market their businesses online with no or at minimum cost.

This fascinated me a lot, and then I figured out that online business is my passion and I started researching a lot about it, then I finally decided to start my blog.

What are some of the challenges you faced as a newbie blogger and how did you overcome them?

I found difficulties in learning SEO techniques because I knew nothing about it.

I researched on the internet, still I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

Later, after exploring and spending sleepless nights, I found some useful videos on the internet.

Then, only I implemented every single step (which I previously used to skip, haha..)

I really admire Brian Dean and Neil Patel. I follow their advice in my blogs and now almost all my articles rank on Google.

You currently run a successful YouTube channel called “The Cynosure Girl” When did you start your YouTube channel and what role does it play in your business now?

When I started my YouTube channel in the 2020 pandemic, honestly I didn’t plan anything.

I randomly shoot a video in my room without having any idea.

Later, I found people started liking and following me, this motivated me a lot to continue to make more videos.

I know that YouTube plays a different role when it comes to marketing your business.

And it plays a huge role because videos are the future.

Everyone loves to see your vlogs, tips, tutorials or reviews before buying anything.

Therefore, I believe that videos are super important.

How have you grown your channel since then?

Starting from April 2020, till now, I have over 15k followers (both on my Instagram and YouTube combined).

How do you find the time, focus and creative energy to do both vlogging and blogging?

When you have passion towards something, everything becomes possible! It’s true.

I never thought of myself being this much productive as I’m right now.

Still, there is always more to achieve in life.

Your online business has a very strong presence on Instagram. How did you build such a magnetic brand on Instagram?

I always love Instagram because if you are consistently making content like posts, reels, or videos, your growth is 100% possible. And it applies with every social media platform.

What people, books, programs and other resources have helped you on your business journey?

There are so many books that I recommend –

  1. Think And Grow Rich by Napolean Hill
  2. 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris
  3. The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman

As a successful female entrepreneur, what are some of the other biggest fears and struggles female entrepreneurs have to deal with?

I think this barrier of being a male or female is created by us only.

We should only remember that we are humans and we can do anything we want.

As we have thousands of examples of those people who have faced a lot of challenges than us and they overcame those.

So, we should always keep these things in our minds.

If you could time travel back to day one of starting your online business and have 15 minutes with your former self to communicate any lessons you’ve acquired over the years with the intention of saving yourself mistakes, what would you tell yourself?

Nice question. If I could time travel back, I would like to give myself the suggestion to learn and acquire more skills.

Because I always underestimated the value of skills, now I know their worth.

How can people work with you?

They can simply mail me at [email protected] or [email protected]

What’s next for you and your business?

Now, I’m working on my new startup which is and very excited to see what we can do best for it.
