This is an interview with Arfa Nazeer of She Means Blogging.

Hey, Arfa. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I am Arfa Nazeer and I’m a blog biz owner of shemeansblogging.com. I help aspiring bloggers achieve blogging goals and build digital empires.

I escaped the traditional 9-5 job routine and found a blog that allows me to become financially independent and make money online.

Most importantly, I love creating content and teaching other bloggers the same through my products, email list and blog content.

When and why did you start SheMeansBlogging.com?

Just after I completed my Masters in Mass Communication, I pursued freelance writing.

Even though I was running a personal blog before that but while I was writing for clients in different niches, I found my interest in a proper blogging business – not a hobby blog.

I started shemeansblogging in late 2017. Earlier it was more like a lifestyle blog.

It took me more than a year to study blogging and there, I realized why not create ‘shemeansblogging’ to provide the easy-to-digest blog content and resources for new bloggers who want to become financially independent and earn a reliable income.

If you believe, blogging can change your life! Well, that’s how it did for me and I feel happy to make this transition.

How do you currently make money from your blog?

I make money from a few sources including ad income, affiliate marketing, digital products and few collaborations/sponsored content.

Many newbie bloggers struggle with generating traffic to their blogs and SEO requires a lot of patience before one can start seeing a decent amount of traffic from Google. What would you say is the easiest way for bloggers to start seeing some results as regards driving traffic to their sites much faster?

In that case, I would say Pinterest has potential to drive traffic to new websites faster.

But, know that, Pinterest is not the ideal choice for all niches. It varies from niche to niche.

For example, mommy blogs and food blogs do really well on Pinterest. Join a mastermind or take a course with full time support to learn in depth about Pinterest marketing.

If Pinterest works, you can get thousands of views daily so that’s amazing!

I have shared some other best traffic generation tactics in my 5 days free email course.

Every day, you will receive one email with an actionable tip to improve your current blog traffic.

New bloggers can also use Facebook groups and even twitter consistently to build an audience.

To my understanding, your traffic building strategies should be based on trials and errors.

And, keep testing proven marketing techniques to attract more eyeballs on your content.

You can also join my free Facebook group for bloggers to connect with other bloggers.

What are your top 3 tips for successfully growing a Pinterest account?

Here are my top 3 tips;

  1. Create content for the Pinterest audience. Know your niche well and study your audience insights to create the best content on Pinterest.
  2. Design good pins. Learn about different color combinations and font pairing for pin designs. Make your pins stand out in the feed. Download my 10 pin templates for free.
  3. Implement Pinterest SEO. From optimizing your Pinterest boards to description and titles, make sure your Pinterest account is SEO friendly.

You currently sell a number of your own products on your blog. What products do you have now and who are they for?

As a content creator with ebooks among other e-products to your name, what does a successful launch look like for you?

It strongly depends on your product research, audience’s problems and ultimately, your product.

If you have done the extensive research and already have an established audience (like an email list or blog readership), launching a product gets easier.

But, this has to be noted that not every product launch is successful.

Related:

You have to know your audience well. Ask them. Engage with them. Tell them how your product can help them.

Do not just launch the product without creating the hype about it.

Tell people why your new product is one thing they need right now.

And, what I have learned is that people love extra value. Preferably, a bonus.

While you are trying to do the product launch, think of any bonuses or extra value you can offer during this launch period. This works.

What are some practices that help you stay on top of your blogging game?

I would say ‘be consistent’ in blogging is really important. It doesn’t have to be only about posting content every day but just keep showing up. Let it be on twitter, or send a weekly email. Sometimes, that’s all you need.

Secondly, focus on creating quarterly goals. And, then make a plan to accomplish that goal.

What does a week in your business look like?

My work routine keeps changing as recently, I have shifted my focus towards my family too.

But, usually, I work 5 days a week and take 2 days off.

I have designated days for different tasks.

Monday: I focus on blog content (Writing, Improving, and Editing)

Tuesday: It’s more like a social media day (Creating content and scheduling.

My main channels are Pinterest, fb group and twitter. Occasionally, Instagram)

Just like that I plan my week. Some days are only for new product creation. It entirely depends on my focus of the month.

What people, books, programs and other resources have helped you on your business journey?

Lots of names and resources online. Can’t name a few. But, Seth’s Godin newsletter are always so inspiring and actionable.

What’s next for you and your business?

I plan to create comprehensive products like courses and trainings for shemeansblogging while I also expand my affiliate marketing income. That’s where I like to work with smart affiliate partners.

Finally, I am a bit excited about doing blog audits in a few weeks that provide an exclusive opportunity for new bloggers to get immediate feedback, audit and action plan for their blogs.

If this is something you are interested in, make sure to join my email list.

I love everything about saving, investing, earning, and building net worth.
